Cow dung for water stain prevention
When a wall shows signs of damp or staining, We first clean the area and scrape away any loose plaster. Then, We take fresh cow dung from the farm, sometimes mixing it with a bit of water or clay to make it easy to spread. We press it firmly into the cracks and over the stains, smoothing it out so it adheres properly. As it dries, it forms a natural barrier, hiding the unsightly patches and helping protect the wall from further moisture. A thin coat of limewash can go on afterward to finish it off, giving the wall a more even, clean look.
It’s a simple, practical technique—one that’s been used for generations—and it’s a reminder that building isn’t always about expensive materials. Sometimes, it’s about using what you have on hand and making it work. This is the kind of hands-on, no-nonsense approach we bring to every project we work on.
